Get YOUR Business on Page 1 of Google using

Google Maps as a Weapon to Out Rank

ALL Your Local Competition!

One of the biggest advantages of Google Maps is they are showing up in the organic search engine pages when people add local modifiers to their “keyword phrases” when searching. Just like the example below:

When online searchers put a local modifier on their searched term it has 100% “local intent”. Google gets this and this is why they then serve up their Local Business Directory.

All you have to do is make sure your business details are being listed in Google LBC (Local Business Center) and displaying for those type of searches and you will be guaranteed laser targeted leads.

DO NOT underestimate these types of searched phrases as being useless due to low search volumes. If you are local plumber in Sacramento, it would be better for you to show up for a searched term like “Plumber Sacramento” that has a search volume of about 4000 per month then it would be to show up for a broad searched term like “Plumber” that has over 150,000 searches every month in Google.

Keyword phrases that content local modifiers have huge buying intent, they have already done their searching and now they are ready to buy LOCALLY. Something broad like “Plumber” could mean a million things that are not directly related to specifically plumbing services in Sacramento the way “Plumber Sacramento” is. The same principals will apply to your local business.

“80% of all purchases are made with a 15 miles radius of where people live.”

It is often debated on the exact percentage of searches that have a local intent, but most studies say all searched keyword phrases have a 20-25% local intent. Now if people add a local modifier like the example above then the intent is obviously 100%.

Not having your business show up in this Google Maps 7 Box Listing is insane. The G-Maps is taking up almost 80% of the organic page (above the fold) – where does your eye go when you see this…?
The picture below shows where typical computer user’s eyes go when they visit the page on Google. As you can see, the “Red Zone” is where the majority of user’s eyes go.

See below image (click to enlarge):

This Google Maps 7 Pack is showing up on Page 1 (above the fold) and has giant image of a map beside them to draw additional attention to them. What businesses do you think are getting the business from these search result pages…? My money is on the ones that are listed in the 7-Pack.

Google Maps is a map which is displayed when a user searches a specific keyword phrase. This map has “marker pins” which locate relative businesses according to the keyword phrase. Google determines which keywords will “trigger” a map to display, therefore, not all keywords will trigger a map to show. The business will have pertinent information and their website posted as a link.

For example: Google the keyword phrase “Truckee realty”. You will notice that a Google Map does not display.
Next, Google the phrase “Truckee realtors”. This keyword phrase will trigger a map to display.

Google will display the top 1 to 7 businesses on the map. (see below) There are more business listings out there, but they don’t all get to be on the first page.

If you’re lucky and with hard work, sometimes you may get the coveted “one box” listing. (see below)

Do you realize the power of having your business listed on the 1st page of Google in the 7 Box?

If you have a local business this is very important to know.  If there hundreds and often thousands of searches every month for your businesses services where people also add in the local modifier to their searched term then you want to make sure you are actively participating in your Google Maps listing.

Look at some these other important stats/facts:

  • 66% of North Americans use online search to locate local businesses
  • 82% of local searchers follow up via a in-store visit, phone call, or purchase
  • 80% of all retail transactions happen within a 15 miles of people’s homes
  • 32% of people with smart phones conducted a local search

These are people who are looking for EXACTLY what it is you do and Google Maps is the first thing they see in a organic search engine results page.  All you need to do is get your business information in front of this traffic and you will have a steady stream of new clients and customers.
